On Monday 7th April 1997 an Internet Course for beginners started. It's main task is to teach the use of the multimedia internet connected computer recently installed at the Poggio dei Pini Library. Most of the 35 people who joined the course is from our village, but there's people even from Capoterra and Cagliari. The course, held by Giorgio Plazzotta (webmaster of this site), will be centred on the instruments put at disposal by the Library in order to connect with Internet and will permit the participants to learn how the work. In only three lessons they will treat the fundamental themes that every user of the Net should know: they have started with some info about the use of the computer and the copy of files, then used the browser and navigated the ipertestual pages of the World Wide Web; then the electronic mail and the newsgroups, ending with the real-time vocal communication with other users living in far countries of the world. Since 26th May till 2nd June 1997 has been held a second course with the same aims of the first. The cybernetics community of Poggio dei Pini is growing. Here are the names of the participants at this second experience:
