Cagliari
We won’t stop here to describe the history of this city. It is the capital of Sardinia and warrants a full day, without doubt. It is reached in 20 mins from Poggio dei Pini, which connects to the capital by numerous buses.
Among the various museums, don’t miss the Archaeological Museum. If you have had the opportunity of making contact with the civilisation that populated this land over thousands of years by visiting the archaeological monuments scattered over the territory, in this museum you will find relics that testify to the life style of those peoples. Furthermore, the museum is situated in the most interesting and picturesque part of the city:the suburb Castello. It is characterized by the narrow streets and the splendid views of modern Cagliari. Don’t miss walking down Via Roma, across from the port; it represents the throbbing heart of Cagliari. For the Trekking enthusiasts, unexpectedly, even Cagliari offers much. Many of Cagliari’s citizens don’t realise that there are havens of wild nature, just around the corner. From Cala Mosca, one takes a path that brings you to the top of one of the city’s symbols: the Devil’s Saddle, the rocky hill which dominates the long beach of Poetto.
