The climate.
The bathing season in Sardinia, goes through from 1st June to 20th October. Bring your bathing costumes in this period – the sea awaits you. We may add that the months of June and September, and the first halves of July and October, are without doubt less crowded by tourists on the beaches. We suggest these periods. However, when we say ‘crowded’….don’t imagine it’s anything like the Adriatic coast:even in mid-August, on the enormous beach of Chia you’ll find all the space you could wish for.
The month of November is transitional. Summer is over, but the cold of Winter usually arrives in December and lasts until early March. What do we mean by ‘cold’? The last time it snowed in Poggio dei Pini, was in 1993. During these months, a cold day means +10°. In Winter, the woods of evergreen Oaks are splendid and streams bubble along the mountain excursions. We insist on saying that a Winter holiday offers much, especially for those of you who live in cold regions.
Spring explodes in March. The sun illuminates the blossoms which burst like fireworks. This is the best moment for walks in the mountain valleys. |
